Job Description

  • Lead the development of an overall governance framework for the Supplier Management process, including Supplier Segmentation, on boarding, scorecard development, performance review and joint business planning.
  • Establish mutually compatible stretching objectives and a shared agenda that delivers value for both the organization and supply partners which ensures strategic alignment
  • Develop and nurture a cohesive interface between the organization, supply partners and cross functionally across the organisation as appropriate, to achieve and leverage joint value creation.
  • Develop and foster an environment of continuous improvement, innovation and creativity between the organization and supply partners and throughout the entire supply chain, ensuring mechanisms for identifying and capturing new ideas, opportunities and ways of working are established.
  • Undertake appropriate supply chain analysis, value chain analysis and business process analysis using Lean and Six Sigma techniques and tools to identify priorities and implement ongoing efficiencies.
  • Facilitate joint strategic review boards at executive level between the organization and supply partners and engage with Key Stakeholders to drive strong collaboration and value delivery with the Supplier Management program.
  • Monitor overall expenditure and ensure that any discounts or rebates are applied correctly.
  • Develop improvement plans with suppliers and business stakeholders ensuring constructive dispute resolution if there are non-performance issues.
  • Collaborative with Category Managers and business stakeholders to capture lessons learnt throughout the Procurement lifecycle and contribute to the development of future strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Achieve annual savings targets as agreed with the Head of Procurement and relevant business stakeholders.
  • Ensure that Supplier Management procedures, process documentation, and scorecards are accurate, current, and in compliance with the organizations requirements.
  • Support the implementation and use of technology to enable the Supplier Management process and ensure that the organizations procurement systems efficiently collect data to support the Supplier Management process.
  • Develop and manage the process to assess the risk of Key Suppliers and ensure that risks and mitigation plans are documented, managed and followed up.
  • Foster and manage strategic relationships with internal customers, suppliers, external company counterparts, and industry and trade associations to garner best practices to continually enhance the SRM program.
  • Ensure oversight and reporting of performance for a range of market areas, emerging performance trends., make recommendations to address shortfalls in performance at both an individual contract and category level
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the organizations strategic/complex contracts to ensure optimal contract performance achieved, Regular reviews are undertaken to ensure performance standards are met and timely action is taken to address suppliers who are underperforming.
  • Ensures that all executed contracts are documented in the Oracle system and that all contracts due for expiry are renewed or terminated by the critical date.
  • Ensures that all related GSC Resolutions have been dealt with and followed up.
  • Maintains and submits regular reports for management review.
  • Carries out other duties as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • University degree, preferably in business or related field
  • MCIPS or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management
  • Experienced professional comfortable working within a cross-functional team environment or individually, as well as collaborating with and advising stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent research, analysis, interpretation and evaluation skills, demonstrating the ability to identify and diagnose complex problems/issues / requirements and develop innovative strategic solutions.
  • Proven experience of developing supplier relationships and managing supplier performance in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated experience of gathering information from multiple stakeholders and analysing supplier performance objectively
  • Proven experience of undertaking supply chain reviews; facilitating workshops and working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to conduct supply chain analysis, value chain analysis and business process reviews to identify process improvements and cost efficiencies and developing and implementing joint action plans. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
