As Category Leadyou will define and implement strategic sourcing activities for the selected category and act as a single point of contact (SPoC) for Business/Support Units, enabling the deployment of selected purchasing strategies and best practices. The Category Lead will provide effective and timely support in order to assist the organisationin achieving its business objectives

• Define and execute sourcing strategies, in close collaboration with business stakeholders, for the responsible category, incl.
o Profile the category, collect & review latest spend and internal demand data
o Compile market intelligence data, incl. markets' full supplier base (supported by tactical e-Sourcing team)
o Identify and evaluate potential sourcing strategies; run risk analysis; document sourcing strategies
o Execute sourcing strategies; run RFI, RFP/RFQ (supported by tactical e-Sourcing team)
o Select suppliers
o Negotiate contracts with suppliers
o Implement and monitor negotiated contracts; monitor contract compliance
• Benchmark negotiated solution/ monitor supply market
• Execute Supplier Relationship Management
• Develop and apply sanctions against suppliers in case of violation of closed contracts
• Participate and lead cross-enterprise sourcing teams
• Review existing sourcing strategies
• Leverage/ share information and data (e.g. supplier, contract, specification) with Tactical Operational Procurement team
• Monitor performance of results that have been negotiated and implemented

Key Account Management

• Act as single point of contact for given category
• Drive strategic sourcing process and know-how; bring/ use best practices and tools
• Liaise with procurement teams to align strategic sourcing approaches
• Sign off (if delegated by the Head of Procurement) sourcing activities, whenever categories are being sourced directly to ensure sourcing process compliance

Who we're looking for
Knowledge & Experience:
• Relevant functional experience and specific category experience
• Strong tangible experience of category strategy development and implementation
• Experience of implementing change across a broad range of stakeholders and organizational boundaries
• Experience in using advanced sourcing methodologies/ tools
• Experience of procurement in the Middle East
• Bachelors degree is a minimum requirement, advanced degrees (Masters, MBA) preferred
• International experience a plus
• Multilingual a plus

Skills:
• Good core professional skills (general strategic skills, project management, experience in budgeting processes, compliance with business policies, PC skills)
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills (agenda-setting, facilitating and coaching, creating case for change, communication skills (written and oral), social skills)
• Basic people management skills (defining organization and staff targets, monitoring performance of staff, providing support in staff development, mentoring staff, providing feedback to staff)
• Good analytical skills (Understanding stakeholder requirements, defining analyses requirements, conducting analysis, formulating recommendations and solutions)
