Working as part of the Water Services department, your prime responsibility will be to provide regulatory, technical and supervisory advice on the production of potable water for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. To achieve this you will need to maintain a broad and comprehensive overview of the Emirate's capacity to meet its potable water demands for domestic, non-domestic uses, and exports. This will include conducting comparative efficiency and quality studies across all potable water producers and establishing a water resources plan. You will keep up to date with developments in the water industry, both local and world-wide and establish performance indicators for various desalination technologies. You will need to be aware of the health and safety aspects of various desalination operational risks and associated hazards as well as assessing the environmental impact of various desalination technologies from both inland and sea-water. Regular audit of licensee performance and review of regulatory guidelines, reporting procedures and performance assessment procedures will be necessary.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Chemical Engineering or a relevant discipline with significant professional experience in the water industry, specifically with a strong understanding of desalination processes. You will have worked with the desalination of seawater for potable / drinkable purposes and consider yourself an expert on RO and/or Thermal processes. You will need to have clear and articulate communication skills and an excellent standard of report writing as you will be dealing with internal / external stakeholders and regulatory agencies on a continuous basis. Fluency in Business English with knowledge of Arabic a plus. In addition you will need to hold a recognised local driving licence.

It has exclusive authority to regulate all companies undertaking activities associated with electricity and water production, transmission, distribution and supply.
