Reporting directly into the Regional Technology Manager who is based in Dubai, your main focus will be to ensure lubricant product quality is maintained and to ensure the correct formulations are translated. You will work very closely with Quality Assurance & Control and Supply Chain teams across the Middle East and Pakistan to ensure that the lubricant products are manufactured according to the customer's requirements and of course in line with best practise standards. These products will be manufactured in 10 blending plants across the region, hence you must be capable of coordinating with several suppliers simultaneously. Some of these suppliers could be from joint ventures in other regions, third party manufacturers or in-house manufacturing. Since you will occasionally work with the Sales & Marketing teams for technical support, you must be familiar with the lubricant products.
This role is part of the product technology division, which looks after all the chemicals and innovation behind all of the lubricant products. You will be required to travel to different factories to ensure all the quality assurance processes are in place and to conduct internal quality audits. This position will require you to coordinate with several internal departments such as the supply chain department, sales divisions and the quality control and assurances teams.
In addition to the above responsibilities you will also be responsible for the following:
- Conduct plant quality audits.
- Ensure closing of post audit issues within a specific timeframe.
- Regularly meet with the Quality Control Managers to share case studies, latest developments and changes.
Since this is quite a technical role, you must hold a Masters degree or a PhD in Chemistry, Engineering or Science as you will be expected to have strong knowledge of chemicals. You must have has exposure to chemicals from several industries such as polymers, plastics, lubricants or grease.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate must hold a PhD or a Masters Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Science as this is quite a technical role. You may also come from a Chemicals background such as polymers, plastics, lubricants or grease.
Preference will go to Arabic speaking candidates based the Middle East region, who are working with a multinational lubricants manufacture catering to the automotive industry. Since you will be required to visit many different sites, you must be able to travel frequently. You must be proficient in English as you will be required to write reports and work with other offices across different regions.
