a) Establish & deliver sustainable cost reduction strategies against spend within own category set
b) Establish & deliver Consolidation strategies relating to high volume of suppliers within own category set
c) Develop and implement effective contract management
d) Deliver strategy programmes enabling sustainable improvement within Procurement & Supply Chain Management
a) Development of internal stakeholder relationships within category sets and sponsors
b) Provide focal point for internal clients across category ownership and become recognised procurement consultant within category set.
c) Support in management development of procurement and supply chain strategies
d) Provide daily management support to subordinates within category set.
e) Ensure consistent use of best practice procurement techniques and tools and adherence to relevant codes of conduct.
f) Continually uphold ethical practices
a) Implementation of best practice sourcing strategies delivering 2010 cost reduction objectives geared to enable ramp up to a minimum 3% year on year reduction from 2011 onwards.
b) Tactical delivery of strategically planned supplier consolidation and supplier development activities
c) Creation and management of category specific and cross category preferred supplier groups.
d) Delivery of sustainable strategies increasing contract coverage to 80% and mitigating associated business risk and exposure by Dec 2011.
e) Identify contract gaps, develop and implement appropriate remedial strategies
f) Delivery of effective and professional contract management increasing supplier performance
g) Develop supply partner principles to facilitate identification further consolidation, cost reduction and risk mitigation opportunities
h) Identify operational improvement opportunities; design and implement agreed activities to offer sustainable Delivery of Category Team process improvement mechanisms.
a) Delivery of core objective through Professional Category Management across own category set
b) Provision of effective contract management
c) Provision of effective risk mitigation
d) Mitigate potential cost increases
e) Active member / lead in business project teams.
f) Self monitoring and reporting of performance measures.
Who we're looking for
Background Knowledge & Experience.
• Minimum Education level required:
Diploma, Ideally in Business Studies
• Professional Qualifications Qualified or Studying for CIPS
• Work Experience
Experienced Category Manager
1. IFM Maintenance
2. Operations
3. Support Services
Experience in one or more of the following will be an advantage
a. Professional Services (i.e IT, Marketing, HR)
b. Property fit out / refurbishment & Security Systems
Variety of industry / sector backgrounds with continuous improvement principles
Successful in Management & Delivery of time constrained projects
Range of Business Experience and appreciation of interdependencies
Internal Auditor experience will be advantageous
