As the Chief Economist, you'll play a vital role in conducting ongoing economic research regionally and globally, including macro and monetary economic analysis, econometric analysis, and other relevant economic subjects. You will work closely with senior management, providing them with crucial economic insights, and in turn contributing to significant strategic and tactical decision-making processes.
  • Must have prior experience in a development fund/development bank.
  • Deep understanding of econometric modelling and forecasting techniques.

Job Description

  • Review and analyse economic data to assess its impact on countries benefiting from the entity's contributions.
  • Lead research and statistical analysis, providing informed analysis for economic outlooks.
  • Evaluate feasibility studies of projects submitted to the organisation.
  • Develop ad-hoc reports to provide senior management with quality economic research insights.
  • Conduct economic research on competitive environments and market analysis.
  • Track economic developments in major developed and emerging economies.
  • Maintain macroeconomic and fiscal databases to international standards.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or Statistics.
  • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in economic and funding research
  • Deep expertise in macroeconomic theory, econometric techniques, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management and PEST analysis.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Ability to evaluate project feasibility and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
