About Our Client
Our client is a key player in the Education sector - they are looking to hire a Finance Controller for their offices in Abu Dhabi.
Job Description
- Manage school operations such as budgeting, forecasting, monthly closing, MIS reporting to principals, budget control, accounts payable and accounts receivables
- Assist the Financial Reporting team in closing internal and external audits for entities
- Finance business partnering with School Principals and Finance staff
- Work closely with the management to expedite school finance processes
- Assist the FP&A team with preparing budgets and forecasts
- Review finance policies and implement new policies based on the business requirements
- Thoroughly review MIS reports prepared by the school Senior Accountants
- Offer explanations and resolve any audit queries in accordance with the audit plan
- Develop robust internal controls to reduce high-risk audit observations
- Evaluate potential bad debt on receivables with compliance to IFRS 9
- Review the AR dashboard weekly and work with the schools to implement tactics to facilitate the collection
- Review and evaluate registration and re-registration processes and provide recommendations to improve operations
The Successful Applicant
- 8-10 years of experience within the accounting and finance function
- Professional accounting qualification preferred
- Preferred experience in the Educational sector
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS standards
- Ability to liaise effectively with business functions and stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
