Furthermore, the entity aims to promote innovation in environmental conservation by driving research, community engagement, strategic partnerships and effective coordination with other stakeholders

Job Description

  • Plan and coordinate marine operations, including fieldwork, expeditions, and research projects.
  • Manage logistics, including vessel operations, equipment procurement, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and develop protocols for mitigating risks during marine activities.
  • Manage budgets and resources for marine operations, optimizing allocation and seeking cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with researchers, scientists, and stakeholders to align marine operations with conservation goals.
  • Liaise with external entities, such as government agencies and partner organizations, to secure necessary permits and permissions.
  • Provide training and support to field staff on equipment usage, safety protocols, and data collection techniques.
  • Oversee data management processes, including accurate recording, storage, and analysis of collected data.
  • Contribute to generating reports and scientific publications based on the collected data.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, marine regulations, and best practices to ensure effective and innovative marine operations.

The Successful Applicant

  • Extensive experience in managing marine operations, including vessel management and logistics coordination.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively plan and execute complex marine projects.
  • Expertise in safety protocols and risk management specific to marine activities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments.
  • Financial management acumen for budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Passion for marine conservation, excellent communication skills, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Marine Conservation or Engineering
