This is a newly created Legal Counsel position reporting to the Head of Legal, designed to support a broad range of commercial and operational legal matters. The role combines hands-on legal advisory with the opportunity to drive process improvements and efficiency within a lean, high-impact team.

Job Description

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including SaaS, supplier, licensing, and partnership contracts
  • Act as a trusted legal partner to business units including Sales, Technology, Procurement, HR, and Finance
  • Provide pragmatic, risk-based legal advice to support commercial decision-making and new initiatives
  • Support corporate governance, internal approvals, and maintenance of legal documentation and records
  • Contribute to compliance frameworks, policy development, and ongoing regulatory adherence
  • Own and enhance contract lifecycle management, templates, and legal tracking processes
  • Identify and implement improvements across legal operations, including automation and use of legal tech tools



The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified lawyer with 3-6 years' PQE from a recognised jurisdiction (common law preferred)
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, ideally within tech or SaaS environments
  • Background in-house or from a reputable law firm with strong commercial exposure
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and balance legal risk with business objectives
  • Experience working in fast-paced or scaling organisations, with a hands-on and adaptable approach
  • Exposure to process improvement, legal operations, or efficiency-driven initiatives is highly advantageous
