Job Description

  • Oversee group financial control activities to maintain accurate, timely and consistent financial records.
  • Review financial results and management information, highlighting key movements and areas requiring attention.
  • Coordinate period-end close activities across relevant group entities to deliver reliable reporting.
  • Maintain effective accounting controls and clear documentation across finance processes.
  • Work with finance colleagues to resolve accounting queries and improve the quality of financial data.
  • Prepare and review financial reports that help stakeholders understand business performance.
  • Monitor balance sheet accounts and ensure appropriate reconciliations are completed and reviewed.
  • Identify practical improvements to financial reporting processes and control activities.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Group Finance Controller' should have:

  • Professional Accounting qualification is mandatory (ACA, ACCA, CA etc.)
  • Experience in the industrial sector is mandatory
  • Strong experience in financial control, accounting and group reporting activities.
  • Ability to review financial information and identify significant movements or discrepancies.
  • Sound knowledge of period-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Confidence in preparing clear, accurate financial reports for business stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain strong accounting controls and improve finance processes.
  • Strong attention to detail when managing financial data and accounting records.
